[Viasat] VS-2 Beams

Below, an installer has suggested two beam types will be used on VS-2. A spot beam is one type, which is how current satellites (Anik-F2, WB-1, & VS-1) are setup. And the other, is known as a conus beam, which means it covers a large area. Imho, his explanation might be off...I suspect there are two conus beams, with one pointed to Alantic ocean area, and the other pointed southwards of US. Some of the spot beams might be pointed towards Europe and Brazil. In any event, previous satellites' beams were focused where they assumed the most money can be made. I suspect roll-out will take several months plus. It has been stated that not all areas in US will get 50/100Mbps plans. He suggest those in conus beam-without a spot beam-might see 30Mbps plan...wait-n-see. So, he states: There are 2 types of beams. There's one large beam that covers the entire US as well as parts of South America and the Atlantic towards Europe. On top of the large beam are smaller micro beams. I don't know the exact number but I've been told over 70 or so
