I was using Dish high speed satellite internet which provided only a modem so I connected the Dish modem to a wifi router. I recently got Exede's 25 GB Priority Data, Liberty 25, with boost to 25 mgb/s plan which provides a combination modem and wifi router in one. I wanted to turn off the Exede router (use it just as a modem) and connect that to my existing router. I contacted level 3 Exede customer support who essentially talked me through turning off the ssid broadcasting - did not turn off the Exede router (or even the wifi). Because I am concerned with having my router behind Exede's router - double natted - I reconfigured my router to an access point and am using Exede's router. Is there a good way to turn off Exede's router and use my router (behind Exede's modem?
Second question - I am getting 25 mgb/s or more during the day - excellent - but in the evening I am getting 2 mgb/s or less. I am not happy about the evening speeds. Exede says there is too much demand on the satellite in the evening and they have no magic button to get me speed. Is this a common issue? I expected slower speeds in the evening but nothing like this??
