I've been a HughesNet customer for a very long time. I believe it's been over 7 or 8 years. My system went out last week apparently radio had died on it due to water leakage. Since my contract with HughesNet had expired I made the decision to switch to Exede. Installer came out and set it up today and it's working great. Much faster than HughesNet but so far my concern is the bandwith meter.
With my HughesNet system the bandwitch meter was accessible through the Modem's control panel but with Exede I have to go to their site to check (which is a little annoying but I can get over it) the real problem I have is that I've been reading people are saying it sometimes takes them awhile to show how much data you've used. I closely monitored my data with HughesNet and the meter was in real-time but I'm concerned I won't be able to monitor my usage as well with this system.
So my questions...
-In your experience how often does the usage meter update?
-How accurate is the usage meter? (I've seen some saying they're being cheated out of their data, is this a common thing?)
-Are you happy with your exede system?
Really, I just need assurance that I didn't make a huge mistake by switching from Hughes to Exede. So, far I'm really happy with the system I just want it to stay that way.
