Currently I don't have much of a choice for high speed broadband due to living in a semi-rural area. I was thinking about getting Excede since they offer a late night free zone that I can use for updates and small downloads so I don't use my prime time data allowance. Hughesnet does not offer an off peak free zone anymore with Gen4 and instead give out "Bonus Bytes" equal to your monthly on peak data plan and this unacceptable to me so Hughesnet is out of the question. I have just two simple questions about Excede that I am hoping someone can answer.
1. Is there any up front cost to getting Excede such as installation, equipment, activation or are those included free with a contract? Does Excede bill up front for first months service or will they send or likely pro-rate the bill later?
2. Does Excede do a credit check for new customers? If so then I might as well forget it because my credit isn't so good. I got denied by Sprint for a 3G data plan and had to go with a no contract through Virgin Mobile.
